I think I\'ll start with about one yard and make a mini back drop and do something small scale to see how it goes. Will let you know!

So far, locally I hae been unable to find any suitable velvet to play with. Joann had some kind of velvet, but it was very shiny and I wasn\'t convinced that it would work right. On top of that, the ladies there were so rude to me that even if it had been what I wanted, I don\'t think I would have bought it there.

I haven\'t given up hope yet! If all else fails, I\'ll try a yard of Don Drake\'s stuff and a yard of the stuff in the aritcle and see how they compare.

If you want a good source for cheap Velvet go to your local Good Will or thrift shop. I did this and walked out with two Velvet dresses for $5. I used the material for a square circle and it looks flawless. I still have one dress left over to cut up as needed.

This might not be what you\'re looking for but I have made a BA frame where I knocked out the chalk board and glued a piece or black fabric against the back. The black fabric included a small pocket at the bottom edge to hold the items. I would call it a \'magic zone\' because it\'s only a frame instead of the stage and it would be weird because things just appear in front of the frame. Hope this helps.
