I finished watching the documentary and it was quite interesting. It followed 5 contestants around before and after the competition and told their stories. 3 were from the US and 1 duo from South Africa and 1 from Japan.

All the contestants showed great skill and dedication but their stories were quite different. The youth from Japan was pretty much self-taught and relied on videos, books, and the internet and practiced alone for over 8 hours per day. While the girl who lived in Malibu, California had access to the Magic Castle youth program and many other resources.

Worth checking out if you get Showtime.
