Contestant & Illusionist Nearly Drowns in Failed Escape on Uri Geller TV Program

A 26 year old lady magician and mind reader, only known as Amila, tried to escape from a water tank on live TV but nearly drowned in the attempt.  The show is a German reality program where magicians and mentalists try to become "The Next Uri Geller."   The contestant was placed in a glass tank of water which slowly filled with water.

All the Secrets of Magic Revealed by Herbert Becker

This controversial book exposes some of the popular effects and illusions of famous magicians including Robert Houdin, Houdini, Thurston, Kellar, Siegfried and Roy, and Doug Henning. The most curious inclusion is how David Copperfield is billed as the "All-Time Greatest Magician" and yet Becker chooses only to expose his simple tricks with paperclips, rubber bands, and rope.

Magicians: How to Win Audiences and Customers & Influence People

Dale Carnegie wrote How to Win Friends and Influence People in 1936 which has sold many millions of copies over the years.  Someone had suggested I read it and I am glad that I did.  I suggest it as required reading for everyone regardless of what endeavors you are engaged in.  However, I can see some strong benefits of the book when applied to magicians who want to be successful in their profession.

What is it That Makes Children Laugh?

As a family oriented performer I have often wondered exactly what is it that makes children laugh? What is it that they respond to that generates this rush of laughter and good times? It is interesting to research and I found out things I never knew before. If a magician understands what makes children laugh, then they can apply it to the routines they create. After all we are entertainers first. So allow me to dive in a bit on this subject and share some of my findings.
