Contestant & Illusionist Nearly Drowns in Failed Escape on Uri Geller TV Program
A 26 year old lady magician and mind reader, only known as Amila, tried to escape from a water tank on live TV but nearly drowned in the attempt. The show is a German reality program where magicians and mentalists try to become "The Next Uri Geller." The contestant was placed in a glass tank of water which slowly filled with water.
She was supposed to guess a 4 digit code but was only able to get 2 digits correct so the lock would not open. The tank continued to fill over her head and she was completely submerged for around 25 seconds. A show staffer then broke the lock with bolt cutters as the stunned woman then emerged from the tank.

The show allows for the contestants to compete and return for subsequent rounds based on audience voting. Amilia was voted through to the next round even despite her difficulties.
